Job summary

Springwell Leeds Academy is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team and support pupils with SEN/SEMH, working under the guidance of teaching and senior staff to implement tailored work programmes.

You will help maintain an orderly, productive environment and collaborate with teachers to plan lessons, monitor progress and adapt support to individual needs. A commitment to ongoing CPD is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience working with children of a relevant age or vulnerable individuals.
• Willingness to complete Team Teach Positive Behaviour Management Level 2 training.
• Understanding of child development, codes of practice/legislation and behaviour factors.
• Excellent spoken and written English.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils' learning and development using specialist skills and experience.
• Establish productive, supportive relationships with pupils as a positive role model.
• Assist with implementing Individual Education, Behaviour and Support plans.
• Collaborate with teachers to create a suitable learning environment and help with lesson planning.
• Monitor, record and evaluate pupil responses, providing feedback to teachers.
