Job summary

Career Teachers is partnering with a warm SEN school in Leeds to recruit Special Needs Teaching Assistants for immediate start. These full-time roles run for the remainder of the academic year with the potential for a permanent contract for the right candidate.

You will support pupils with autism, SEMH, and other needs, delivering tailored one-to-one and small group support alongside teachers and therapists in a nurturing, inclusive environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with vulnerable children and young people.
• Ability to manage challenging behaviours calmly.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Resilience, patience and empathy.
• Experience in SEN, care, youth work or similar environments.
• Committed to helping learners overcome barriers.

Responsibilities

• Provide tailored one-to-one and small group support.
• Assist with delivery of engaging learning activities.
• Support pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural development.
• Build positive relationships to encourage confidence and independence.
• Implement behaviour management strategies effectively.
