Academics is recruiting a SEN Teaching Assistant to join a SEMH school in Canterbury from September. This full-time role supports pupils with SEMH and works 1:1 and in small groups to help them engage with learning and manage behaviour.

You will collaborate with teachers to create a safe, structured learning environment, develop positive relationships, and implement emotional regulation strategies. A current DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one is required; salary will reflect

  • Is resilient, patient and able to remain calm in challenging situations.
  • Has strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills.
  • Is passionate about making a positive difference to the lives of young people.
  • Is available to work 5 days per week from September.
  • Holds an active DBS on the Update Service, or is willing to obtain one through Academics.

SEN Teaching Assistant - SEMH School

Academics are currently recruiting for a SEN Teaching Assistant to join one of our fantastic SEMH schools in Canterbury from September.

This is a full-time opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. You will play a key role in helping pupils engage with their learning, manage their behaviour and build positive relationships within a supportive school environment.

The role
  • Providing classroom support to pupils with SEMH needs
  • Working on a 1:1 basis and in small groups where required
  • Supporting pupils with emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
