Long Term Futures is seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support in a mainstream primary school in Birmingham (B6). You will support pupils across KS1 and KS2 with ASD and ADHD, working with the SENCO and teachers to foster communication, independence and positive engagement throughout the academic year.

This full-time role requires patience and resilience, with the ability to adapt activities to individual needs.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEN is essential.
• Experience in a primary school, SEN provision or specialist setting is required.
• Ability to provide patient, consistent 1:1 support.
• Experience with KS1 and KS2 pupils is desirable.
• Knowledge of strategies for additional learning, communication or sensory needs is beneficial.

Responsabilités

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support for pupils within the SEN hub.
• Support children with a range of special educational needs.
• Work with pupils across KS1 and KS2.
• Adapt learning activities to suit individual needs and ability levels.
• Support communication, social interaction and emotional regulation.
• Use visual aids, structured routines and sensory strategies where appropriate.
• Encourage independence, confidence and positive engagement with learning.
• Work closely with teachers, the SENCO and other support staff.
• Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to the wider team.
