Job summary

Connex Education Partnership is seeking an SEN Teaching Assistant to provide one-to-one support for a pupil with complex needs at a Knutsford primary school. The role includes personal care duties and close collaboration with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to enable access to education with dignity and respect.

You will support learning, monitor progress, and help develop communication, social, and emotional skills while promoting independence in a safe environment.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children with complex SEN is essential.
• Experience providing personal care is essential.
• Understanding safeguarding and child protection procedures.
• Ability to stay calm and professional in challenging situations.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated one-to-one support for a pupil with complex needs.
• Assist with personal care, including toileting, feeding and hygiene.
• Implement individual learning plans and support strategies.
• Help the pupil access the curriculum at an appropriate level.
• Support the pupil’s communication, social and emotional development.
• Monitor and record the pupil’s progress and wellbeing.
• Collaborate with teachers, SENCO and healthcare professionals.
• Support the pupil during breaks and school activities.
• Adapt activities to meet the pupil’s needs and promote independence.
