Academics in Warrington/Runcorn area are seeking an experienced Complex Needs Teaching Assistant to support vulnerable children in schools on short-term and long-term contracts.

You will provide one-to-one and small-group support, assist with personal care where needed, and work with teachers to foster a safe, inclusive learning environment. A calm, patient, and nurturing approach is essential to help pupils engage and reach their potential.

Qualifications

• Experience in an SEN school or specialist setting.
• Background in personal care within education or care environments.
• Ability to support pupils with complex needs, autism or challenging behaviour.
• Excellent patience and communication when engaging with pupils.
• Calm, nurturing approach and ability to build trust.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils with complex and additional needs.
• Assist with learning, emotional wellbeing and social development.
• Support personal care where required while maintaining dignity and confidentiality.
• Work with teachers and SEN professionals to create a safe, inclusive learning environment.
• Encourage independence and confidence in daily activities.
