Job summary

REESON Education is seeking a reliable and assertive Teaching Assistant for a specialist provision in Barnsley (S75) starting September 2026. You will provide firm classroom support, reinforce routines, and help drive consistency across the school day.

The role requires experience in schools or SEN and an enhanced DBS. A strong presence with calm communication is essential, and both full-time and part-time roles are available.

Qualifications

• Experience in schools, SEN, sports, alternative provision, or structured youth settings.
• A strong presence with calm, controlled, and confident communication.
• Enhanced DBS or willingness to apply through us.

Responsibilities

• Provide firm, steady classroom support during lessons to keep pupils focused and on task.
• Apply consistent boundaries, structure, and expectations for behaviour reinforcement.
• Support pupils with work set by the teacher and reinforce key learning points.
• Maintain clear daily routines and transitions across the school day.
• Track pupil engagement and report to teaching staff.
• Work closely with teachers and support staff to maintain consistent standards.
