Job summary

REESON Education in England is seeking a reliable Teaching Assistant to support a specialist provision in Barnsley (S70) from September 2026. The role requires a strong presence, clear direction, and firm support to help pupils stay focused and engaged.

Qualifications

  • Experience in schools, SEN, sports, alternative provision, or structured youth settings.

  • Enhanced DBS certification or willingness to apply through us.

Responsibilities

Are you a reliable and assertive Teaching Assistant who brings strong presence, clear direction, and firm support to the classroom?

We are recruiting a driven and hands-on Teaching Assistant for a specialist provision in Barnsley (S70) starting from September 2026, ideal for someone who thrives in structured, high-expectation environments.

About the Role:

As a Teaching Assistant, you will provide direct classroom support, reinforce routines, and apply a confident, no-nonsense approach to help pupils stay focused and engaged. You'll support learning, reinforce behaviour expectations, and help drive consistency across the school day.

Key Responsibilities as a Teaching Assistant:
  • Classroom Support: Provide firm, steady support during lessons to keep pupils focused and on task.
  • Behaviour Reinforcement: Apply consistent boundaries, structure, and expectations.
  • Learning Assistance: Support pupils with work set by the teacher and reinforce key learning points.
  • Routine Leadership: Maintain clear daily routines and transitions across the school day.
  • Progress Monitoring: Track pupil engagement and report directly to teaching staff.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with teachers and support staff to maintain consistent standards.
To succeed as a Teaching Assistant, you will need:
  • Experience in schools, SEN, sports, alternative provision, or structured youth settings.
