Job summary

Reeson Education is seeking a skilled Teaching Assistant for a specialist provision in Sheffield (S5) starting September 2026. You will provide direct classroom support, reinforce routines, and help drive consistency across the school day.

The role requires experience in schools or SEN settings, a strong presence, and the ability to manage challenging behaviour with calm authority. DBS update or willingness to apply is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in schools, SEN, sports, alternative provision, or structured youth settings.
• Strong presence with calm, controlled, and confident communication.
• Ability to manage challenging behaviour with authority and consistency.
• Quick decision-making and practical problem-solving under pressure.
• Enhanced DBS on update service or willingness to apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide firm classroom support to keep pupils focused.
• Apply consistent boundaries, structure and expectations.
• Support pupils with work and reinforce learning points.
• Maintain clear daily routines and transitions.
• Track pupil engagement and report to teaching staff.
• Collaborate with teachers and support staff to maintain standards.
