Job summary

Reed in Leeds is seeking a dedicated Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school. You will support pupils with diverse needs, helping them access the curriculum and participate in lessons with confidence and care.

Working across supply, short-term and potential long-term cover, you will implement IEPs, collaborate with the SENCO and teachers, and report on progress to parents and carers, contributing to an inclusive, nurturing learning environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience working in an educational setting, preferably with SEN.
  • Patient, empathetic and proactive approach to supporting students.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide tailored support to students with SEN so they access the curriculum.
  • Assist with IEP implementation and support the class teacher in lessons.
  • Foster an inclusive, safe classroom where all pupils feel valued.
  • Collaborate with the SENCO, teachers and support staff to monitor progress.
  • Engage with parents to provide updates on student development.
