Job summary

Education World is seeking a dedicated SEN School Teaching Assistant to support learners aged 16 to 24 with moderate to severe learning difficulties at a specialist setting in Consett, County Durham.

You will provide personalised support, assist with tailored learning activities, and collaborate with the team to implement individual education plans, promoting independence, inclusion and safeguarding at all times.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting learners with additional needs or in SEN settings.
• Ability to contribute to personalised learning plans and assessments.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting learner welfare.

Responsibilities

• Provide personalised support to learners aged 16 to 24 with learning difficulties.
• Assist in delivering tailored activities to promote social, emotional, and academic development.
• Support daily living skills and independence, while maintaining dignity and respect.
• Supervise classroom activities, breaks, and leisure periods in a safe environment.
• Collaborate with teachers and therapists to implement strategies for individual needs.
• Monitor progress and contribute to ongoing assessments and reports.
• Foster positive, inclusive relationships in line with school values.
