Job summary

Niche Education Ltd is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to work in a SEN school in Darlington. The successful candidate will support students with complex needs and collaborate with dedicated staff to promote independence and positive outcomes.

The role requires prior TA experience or transferable SEN experience, strong communication, resilience, and the ability to engage and manage behaviour in challenging situations. On-site role with ongoing opportunities.

Qualifications

• Qualified TA or transferable SEN experience.
• Experience with children or young adults with special needs.
• Ability to engage with pupils and enforce positive behaviour.
• Ability to challenge pupils when displaying negative behaviour.
• Ability to build a respectful rapport with SEND pupils.
• Resilience and calmness under stress.
• Strong communication skills.
• Flexible and responsive to differing pupil needs.

Responsibilities

• Support students with complex needs in the classroom.
