Job summary

Prospero Teaching is assisting a well-established specialist SEN primary school in Rochdale, Greater Manchester, recruiting a Teaching Assistant to support pupils aged 3-11 with Autism, ADHD and related needs. The role is full-time, term-time only, with a start date of Monday 14 September 2026 and hours from 8:30am to 3:30pm, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting or mentoring children or young people.
• Patient, approachable and able to build positive relationships.
• Good literacy and numeracy skills (GCSE Maths & English or equivalent).
• Calm under pressure with a positive outlook and sense of humour.
• Committed to inclusion and helping every child succeed.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils in the classroom, 1:1 or in small groups.
• Help deliver engaging lessons under the guidance of the class teacher.
• Assist pupils with additional needs, promoting confidence, communication, and positive behaviour.
• Provide encouragement and motivation – in class, during activities, or on the playground.
• Act as a reliable adult role model, supporting pupils' social and emotional development.
