Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated Additional Needs Support Assistant to join a specialist secondary provision in Salford. You will work with teachers, therapists and support staff to help students access education and develop life skills.

Ideal candidates will have experience with SEN, show patience and resilience, and build positive relationships with students, families and colleagues. The role offers immediate starts and ongoing training through Teaching Personnel Academy.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEN or disabilities.
• Patience, empathy and resilience in challenging situations.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students, families and staff.
• Experience in education, care, healthcare or youth work is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Supporting students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
• Assisting with personalised learning activities.
• Encouraging communication, social interaction, and independence.
• Supporting students with sensory regulation and emotional wellbeing.
• Assisting with mobility and personal care where required.
• Working with teachers and external specialists to implement support plans.
• Creating a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Promoting student confidence, engagement and achievement throughout the school day.
