Responsibilities

  • Work full-time in the school's SEN room.
  • Provide tailored support to pupils with SEND.
  • Support individual pupils and small groups with learning and development.
  • Help pupils develop communication, social and emotional skills.
  • Support pupils with learning plans and targets.
  • Assist with classroom routines and transitions.
  • Work with the class teacher, SENCO and support team.
  • Promote positive behaviour and independence.

Vision for Education are currently recruiting for a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant to work within an SEN room at a welcoming primary school in Willenhall. This role is for the Autumn Term 2026, with the potential for the position to become permanent for the right candidate.

The successful candidate will work closely with the school's SEN team, supporting pupils with a range of additional needs and helping them to access learning, develop their independence and thrive within a supportive environment.

The role

This role will include:

  • Working full-time within the school's dedicated SEN room.
  • Providing tailored support to pupils with a range of special educational needs.
  • Supporting individual pupils and small groups with their learning and development.
  • Helping pupils to develop their communication, social and emotional skills.
  • Supporting pupils with their individual learning plans and targets.
  • Assisting with classroom activities, routines and transitions throughout the school day.
  • Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider support team.
  • Promoting positive behaviour and encouraging pupils to develop their confidence and independence.
  • Working throughout the Autumn Term 2026, with the potential for the role to become permanent.

This position is based in a supportive and inclusive primary school in Willenhall. The school is committed to ensuring that all pupils, including those with additional needs, receive the support and opportunities they need to achieve their full potential.

You will become part of a dedicated SEN team who work collaboratively to create a nurturing, safe and engaging environment for pupils.

Requirements

To be considered for this SEN Teaching Assistant position, you will:

  • Have previous experience working with children, ideally within a primary or SEN setting.
  • Have experience supporting pupils with SEND or a strong interest in developing your SEN experience.
  • Be patient, nurturing and adaptable in your approach.
  • Have strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Be confident supporting pupils on an individual and small-group basis.
  • Be able to commit to a full-time role throughout the Autumn Term 2026.
  • Be interested in the potential for a permanent position.
  • Be able to provide two recent and relevant references.
  • Have, or be willing to obtain, an Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service.
