Job summary

Vision for Education are seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with additional needs in a welcoming primary school in Tamworth. You will provide tailored 1:1 support, help with lessons and adapt materials to meet individual learning needs, while contributing to a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

The role requires patience, empathy and strong teamwork to collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO, ensuring progress and safeguarding at all times.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children or young people (preferably in an educational setting).
  • Patient, empathetic and proactive approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 support tailored to the pupil's needs.
  • Assist with delivery of lessons and adapt materials.
  • Support behaviour management in line with school policies.
  • Encourage independence, social interaction and engagement in learning.
  • Work with the class teacher and SENCO.
  • Monitor and record the pupil's progress.

Vision for Education are on the hunt for an experienced Teaching Assistant with a background of working with children with Special Educational Needs within the Tamworth area.

Role:Teaching Assistant.

Location:Tamworth

Start Date:ASAP

Salary:£92.56 to £100 per day.

About the Role

Vision for Education are seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with additional needs in a welcoming primary school in Tamworth. This rewarding role involves working closely with an individual student to help them access the curriculum, build confidence, and reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 support tailored to the pupil's specific learning and emotional needs
  • Assist with the delivery of lessons and adapt materials where necessary
  • Support behaviour management strategies in line with the school's policies
  • Encourage independence, social interaction, and engagement in learning
  • Work collaboratively with the class teacher and SENCO
  • Monitor and record the pupil's progress
Requirements
  • Experience working with children or young people (preferably in an educational setting)
  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3, or equivalent) are desirable but not essential
  • Have or be able to obtain a DBS Certificate registered to the update service.
  • Be able to gain at least two relevant references covering the last 2 years.
