Job summary

Vision for Education Ltd is seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to work in an SEN Primary School in Southam on a full-time basis. Hours 0830-3pm Monday to Friday.

The role involves supporting pupils aged 5-11 with SEN, including autism, ADHD and speech and language needs, in mainstream or specialist settings. You will work 1:1 or with small groups to differentiate activities, reinforce lessons and build positive, trusting relationships while adapting materials to meet individual learning

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children, ideally in an educational setting.
  • Experience supporting children with SEN, autism, ADHD or speech and language needs.
  • Experience using visual supports, communication aids or behaviour strategies (desirable).

Vision for Education is seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to work in an SEN Primary School in Southam on a full-time basis.

About the role
  • Working with Primary aged students aged 5-11 supporting pupils with special educational needs, Autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties enabling students to access learning and thrive in a mainstream or specialist school setting.
    • Work in a 1:1 setting or with small groups to differentiate learning activities.
    • Reinforce lessons delivered by the teacher.
    • Use tailored approaches to meet the child's individual learning style.
    • Assist pupils to engage with class activities and the wider school community.
    • Adapt materials and provide additional resources as needed.
About the school:
  • A primary school setting that caters to young learners aged 5 to 11, with an emphasis on providing extensive support, particularly for those with additional needs, supporting a range of needs including: - Social Emotional Mental Health, Autism/ADHD and non-verbal pupils.

This approach supports self-directed learning, helping children develop independence and decision-making skills, while also providing a structured foundation for more focused learning sessions.

About you:
  • Experience working with children, ideally in an educational setting.
  • Experience supporting children with special educational needs (SEN), particularly autism, ADHD, or speech and language difficulties.
  • Experience using visual supports, communication aids, or behaviour support strategies (desirable but not always essential).
  • Able to build positive, trusting relationships with children.
  • Clear and confident communication with children and adults.
  • Good organisation andtime management.
  • Able to work independentlyand as part of a team.
  • Patient, calm, and emotionally resilient.
  • Able to obtain suitable references and a DBS check.
