Job summary

Integra Education (North) LTD is recruiting dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to support children with SEMH and SEND in Wigan. The role is full-time/temporary with a September start and a pay rate of £110 per day.

You will assist against a background of challenging needs and contribute to planned activities and safeguarding practices. The successful candidate will have GCSEs, prior TA experience, and DBS checks; there is an emphasis on professional development and working within a supportive

Qualifications

  • Strong basic education, GCSE grade C in English and Maths.
  • Experience in a Teaching Assistant role.
  • Experience with SEMH or SEND in an educational setting.
  • Willing to take extra responsibilities in areas such as Food Hygiene, Forest School, lunchtimes.
  • Experience of behaviour management.
  • Willing to learn and develop professionally.
  • Enhanced DBS or willingness to apply.
  • Level 2+ TA qualification desired but not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Mentor and support one pupil or small groups.
  • Support the classroom teacher during lessons.
  • Report on pupils' progress and liaise with staff.
  • Supervise pupils during non-classroom time and trips.
  • Assist with lesson planning and preparation.
  • Set work and mark work as appropriate.
  • Build positive relationships to drive learning outcomes.

SEN Teaching Assistant - Wigan

Integra Education (North) LTD are currently recruiting dedicated Teaching Assistants to join our team in Wigan. This role involves supporting children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, complex behaviours and special educational needs (SEND).

Role Responsibilities
  • Dedicated to mentoring and supporting one pupil or else a small groups
  • Supporting the classroom teacher during lessons
  • Reporting on pupils' progress and concerns and liaising with other school staff to ensure pupils' needs are met
  • Supervision of pupils during non-classroom time including extra-curricular activities and school tripsAssisting with lesson planning and classroom preparation
  • Setting work where appropriate and marking
  • Building positive relationships with your pupils and driving interaction and positive learning outcomes
Requirements
  • Have a strong basic education, ideally to A-level, with a minimum of GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English Language and Mathematics and sound IT skills
  • Previous experience in a similar role as a Teaching Assistant
  • Previous experience of working with pupils with SEMH or SEND within an educational setting
  • Be experienced and confident enough to take additional responsibility in an area of school, e.g Food Hygiene, Forest School, lunchtimes etc.
  • Experience of behaviour management and techniques
  • Committed to professional development and willing to learn
  • Enhanced DBS or willing to apply
  • Level 2 or above Teaching Assistant qualification is desired but not essential.
