Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to work full-time in specialist and mainstream schools across Wigan, supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN). As a Full-Time SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide one-to-one and small group support, help implement personalised learning plans, and foster a safe, inclusive classroom environment.

You'll work closely with teachers and SENCOs, gain ongoing professional development, and have access to a wide network

  • Patient, resilient, and empathetic.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

Teaching Personnel is seeking compassionate, motivated, and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to work on a full-time basis in specialist and mainstream schools across Wigan, supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning and thrive in an inclusive educational environment.

As a Full-Time SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with additional needs.
  • Support children with Autism (ASC), ADHD, Speech and Language Needs, SEMH, and Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties.
  • Work closely with class teachers and SENCOs to implement personalised learning plans.
  • Encourage positive behaviour, independence, and engagement in learning.
  • Foster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
