Job summary

Value Education LTD are seeking enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to work in Primary Schools in the Wigan area, starting September 2026. The role supports children with additional needs and involves helping with lesson preparation and group activities.

Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30-3:30. You will support pupils 1:1 and in groups, tailor learning to individual needs, and work with staff and SENCO to ensure effective progress.

Qualifications

• Experience working with additional needs in a school setting (or similar).
• Confident in communicating with parents, pupils and staff.
• Able to handle difficult situations and behaviour efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Class Teacher in preparing work for the lesson ahead.
• Assist with group activities.
• Work with children on a 1:1 and group basis.
• Provide additional support to children with a range of SEN needs.
• Tailor lesson plans to individual needs.
• Work inside and outside the classroom.
• Work effectively under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO.
• Support pupils with personal care needs when appropriate.
