Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a SEND Learning Support Assistant / LSA for a specialist provision in Northeast London. The role starts immediately and involves supporting students with Autism/ASD, SLD and challenging behaviours across all Key Stages.

You will work under guidance to implement learning plans, promote academic progress, and support emotional and social development in a nurturing environment. Training and CPD are offered, with competitive daily rates and a referral scheme.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with additional needs or disabilities.
• Experience with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) and challenging behaviours.
• Level 2 or 3 CACHE or equivalent qualification.
• Team-Teach or MAPA qualifications are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Work with students across all Key Stages who have Autism/ASD, SLD, and challenging behaviours.
• Provide patient and nurturing support to promote academic and emotional development.
• Help implement behaviour strategies and support individual learning plans.

Job Title: SEND Learning Support Assistant / SEND LSA

Location: Northeast London

Start Date: Immediate Start

Salary: £90 - £130 per day

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a SEND school in Norththeast London, supporting with their recruitment for a SEND Learning Support Assistant / LSA. The setting is centred on pupil s development, as well as an intrinsic desire to make progress both academically and with their own emotional, social and behavioural skills.

The school is seeking a passionate team player to take on this short-term role, although there is potential for this to become a long-term placement for the right SEND Learning Support Assistant / SEND LSA. The successful SEND Learning Support Assistant / LSA will bring a new dimension and skill set to this role, be keen to develop their own skills to adapt to the children s individual needs and have a positive impact on the wider school.

The position will involve working with students across all Key Stages with diagnosis of Autism / ASD, SLD / Severe Learning Difficulties, and challenging behaviours. A proactive thinker with the ability to take control of situations confidently is necessary.

The successful SEND Learning Support Assistant / SEND LSA will have:

• Experience working with children with additional needs / disabilities
• Experience working with students with Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) and challenging behaviours
• Level 2 or 3 CACHE or equivalent
• Team-Teach or MAPA qualifications desirable
