Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting an experienced SEN Learning Support Assistant (SEN LSA) for a long-term role in Tunbridge, working with pupils with PMLD in a specialist needs school. The post involves classroom support and 1-1 embedding individual learning plans, ensuring safety and continuity of learning.

The successful candidate will have experience in SEN settings, safeguarding, and working as part of a wider school team, with a patient, caring and adaptable approach.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people with PMLD.

• Good safeguarding knowledge and promoting pupil safety.

Responsibilities

TeacherActive is proud to be working with specialist needs schools in Tunbridge that provides a supportive learning environment for children and young people with a range of additional needs, including PMLD. The school promotes a safe, inclusive and nurturing environment where pupils are supported to develop their independence and reach their full potential.

The school is looking to take on an experienced SEN LSA on a long-term basis, providing support both within the classroom and on a 1-1 basis. The successful SEN LSA will support pupils throughout their learning, help prepare the classroom and learning resources, and ensure children remain safe and supported throughout everyday school activities.

The successful SEN LSA will have:

• Experience working with children or young people with PMLD
• Experience working within special education or an SEN setting
• Experience providing classroom and 1-1 support
• A good understanding of safeguarding and promoting pupil safety
• A patient, caring and adaptable approach
• The ability to work effectively as part of a wider school team
