Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking a Teaching Assistant to join a Special Resource Base (SRB) in Hengoed on a long-term basis, with potential permanent placement for the right candidate. You will work under the class teacher to support pupils with SEN, Autism, ADHD, and challenging behaviour.

Ideal applicants have a Level 2 TA qualification or at least 6 months experience in education, with a focus on building supportive relationships and maintaining calm under pressure.

Job Title: Teaching Assistant / TA

Start Date: Immediate Start

Salary: £85-£95 per day

The school is looking to take on an engaging Teaching Assistant / TA on a long-term basis, leading to a potential permanent position for the right Teaching Assistant / TA. The successful candidate will be working in the Special Resource Base / SRB unit of the school, working closely with the class teacher to best support pupils with a range of special educational needs, including Autism, ADHD and challenging behaviour. Experience working with children with special educational needs / SEN is desired. This role is a great chance to gain plenty of experience to help build your CV.

The successful Teaching Assistant will have:

• Minimum Level 2 Teaching Assistant / TA qualification OR 6 month experience in an educational establishment
• Enjoyment in building relationships with children
• Excellent patience skills
• Ability to have an open mindset to situations
