Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a SEND Teaching Assistant for an Outstanding primary school in Trafford. The role involves 1:1 support for a Year 4 pupil with Autism within the school’s SEND provision, starting after October half term.

You will work closely with the class teacher to adapt activities and foster engagement in KS2. Requirements include UK school experience and understanding of Autism, plus strong communication and a patient, adaptable approach.

This full-time, long-term SEND Teaching Assistant role starts after October half term, supporting a Year 4 child with Autism within the school’s SEND provision. You will provide one-to-one (1:1) support in Key Stage 2 / KS2, working closely with the class teacher to adapt learning activities and encourage engagement and independence.

The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will have:

• Experience working in a UK school (essential)
• An understanding of Autism and strategies to support children with special educational needs and disabilities
• The ability to adapt learning activities and provide consistent one-to-one support
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work closely with the class teacher
• A patient, caring and adaptable approach
