Job summary
TeacherActive is recruiting a Teaching Assistant for a mainstream primary school in Chesterfield with high SEN needs. You will provide 1:1 support for a pupil with Autism/ASD in Year 3, helping them engage with learning, manage routines and develop independence.
The role is full-time and long-term, ASAP to July 2027, on-site. Desirable Level 2/3 TA qualification and experience with SEN/SEND are required, with strong communication and relationship-building skills.
Qualifications

The school is looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant who can provide consistent, positive support and help pupils access learning in a nurturing classroom environment.
The school is looking to take on a Teaching Assistant on a full‑time, long‑term basis from ASAP until July 2027. The successful Teaching Assistant will be working in Year 3, providing 1:1 support for a child with Autism / ASD and helping them to engage with learning, manage routines and develop their independence.
- Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification desirable
- Experience working with children with SEN / SEND
- Experience supporting children with Autism / ASD
- Confidence providing 1:1 support within a primary school setting
- A patient and adaptable approach
- Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
- A dedicated team of consultants available 24/7 to help you with the easy onboarding process
- CPD Courses and certificates as part of the My-Progression channel
