Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated Progress Partner (SEND Teaching Assistant) to join a specialist educational setting in Sutton, supporting children and young people with SEND. This full-time role offers September start and a salary of £20,000–£23,800 per year.

You will work 1:1 and in small groups, collaborate with teachers and therapists, promote positive behaviour and wellbeing, and help pupils achieve academic and personal development with ongoing training and development

Qualifications

  • Previous SEND experience within a school or educational setting.
  • A valid Enhanced DBS certificate is required.
  • Registered on the DBS Update Service.

  • Provide tailored 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEND.
  • Work closely with teachers, therapists, and pastoral staff to support individual learning and development plans.
  • Promote positive behaviour, engagement, and emotional wellbeing.
  • Encourage independence and confidence both inside and outside the classroom.

Salary: £20,000 - £23,800 per annum

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Progress Partner (SEND Teaching Assistant) to join a specialist educational setting supporting children and young people with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced SEND professional who is passionate about helping students overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.

The Role
  • Provide tailored 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEND.
  • Work closely with teachers, therapists, and pastoral staff to support individual learning and development plans.
  • Promote positive behaviour, engagement, and emotional wellbeing.
  • Encourage independence and confidence both inside and outside the classroom.

Essential Requirements
  • Previous SEND experience within a school or educational setting.
  • A valid Enhanced DBS Certificate.
  • Registered on the DBS Update Service.
  • Available to start immediately and commit to a September start.
  • Strong communication skills and a patient, nurturing approach.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families.
