TeacherActive is working with a mainstream Primary School in Ormskirk to recruit a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant. You will provide tailored 1:1 and small group support for pupils with autism and other SEND needs, helping them access the National Curriculum with confidence.

Ideal candidates will have a Level 2/3 TA qualification or be working towards, and demonstrate patience, resilience, and strong communication to build positive relationships with pupils and staff in a supportive classroom

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with Autism Spectrum Condition / ASC in a primary school setting.
• Experience supporting pupils with SEND within a primary school setting.
• Strong behaviour management and differentiated learning approaches.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building with pupils and staff.

Responsabilités

• Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support for pupils with ASC/SEND.
• Assist with classroom activities and access to the National Curriculum.
• Implement individual learning strategies and support independence.
• Collaborate closely with the class teacher to maintain an inclusive learning environment.

Salary: £100 - £160 per day

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a mainstream Primary School based in the area of Ormskirk, who are looking to appoint a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant. This is an exciting opportunity to support children with additional learning needs in a primary school environment, helping pupils develop their confidence, communication skills and independence whilst accessing the National Curriculum.

The school is looking to take on a passionate SEND Teaching Assistant on a flexible, day-to-day basis, supporting pupils with autism spectrum disorder / ASD across the primary age range. The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will provide tailored 1:1 and small group support where required, assist with classroom activities, implement individual learning strategies and work closely with the class teacher to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will have:

• A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable)
• Experience supporting children with Autism Spectrum Condition / ASC
• Experience working with pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities / SEND within a primary school setting
• An understanding of behaviour management strategies and differentiated learning approaches
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
• A patient, caring and adaptable approach with a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
