Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support students with additional needs in Sunderland, spanning KS3 to KS4. This long-term role offers the potential for permanent opportunities and requires a patient, adaptable approach.

You will assist students with autism, ADHD and SEMH, helping them access learning and engage in class, with full PAYE payroll and market-rate daily pay up to £110.

Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

Salary: £95 – £110 per day

The schools are committed to helping young people with additional needs engage with their education and reach their full potential.

We are looking for an SEN Teaching Assistant for long-term roles, with permanent opportunities available. The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will support students with a range of needs including autism / ASD, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder / ADHD and Social, Emotional and Mental Health / SEMH needs, helping them access learning, manage their individual needs and engage positively within the classroom.

The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will have:

• Experience supporting children or young people with additional needs
• Experience working with autism / ASD, ADHD and/or SEMH needs
• Experience supporting students across KS3 and KS4 is desirable
• A patient and resilient approach
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• A positive and adaptable attitude
