Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils at an all-age special school in the Solihull area. This role is on a day-to-day basis with potential for longer-term work, supporting learners with Moderate Learning Difficulties and Autism across different age groups.

You will help pupils access a broad and balanced curriculum, build confidence, and contribute to their learning, wellbeing and development.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people with SEND.
• Experience supporting pupils with Moderate Learning Difficulties and/or Autism.
• Confidence working with pupils across different age groups.
• Ability to adapt support to meet individual learning needs.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

TeacherActive is proud to be working with an all-age special school in the B90 area of Solihull supporting children and young people with Moderate Learning Difficulties, many of whom are on the autistic spectrum. The school places student care, guidance and support at the heart of its work, with a strong focus on understanding individual learning needs and providing an inclusive education.

The school is looking to appoint SEN Teaching Assistants for day-to-day opportunities, with the potential for longer-term work. The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will support pupils across different age groups, helping them access a broad and balanced curriculum while providing personalised support and contributing to their learning, wellbeing and development.

The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will have:

Experience working with children or young people with SEND

Experience supporting pupils with Moderate Learning Difficulties and/or Autism

Confidence working with pupils across different age groups

The ability to adapt support to meet individual learning needs

Strong communication and relationship-building skills

A patient, resilient and adaptable approach
