Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment are currently looking for a dedicated and experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Winsford on a full-time, long-term basis. The successful candidate will work within the school's SEND Base, supporting pupils with profound learning difficulties (PMLD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate Teaching Assistant who is committed to providing high-quality, individualised support and helping pupils

Qualifications

• Proof of Right to Work, passport or birth certificate.
• A CV that covers 10 years of education or employment.
• Fully enhanced DBS certificate or willingness to process one (DBS cost refunded).

Responsibilities

• Work closely with pupils with profound and complex learning needs and ASD.
• Provide tailored 1:1 and small-group support in line with learning plans.
• Support communication, social, emotional and educational development.
• Assist with personalised learning activities and sensory-based provision.
• Promote independence, confidence and positive behaviour.
• Collaborate with the class teacher, SEND team and professionals to ensure consistency.
• Support pupils during lessons, transitions and wider school activities.
• Build positive relationships with pupils with a calm, patient, nurturing approach.

The Role

• Work closely with pupils with profound and complex learning needs and ASD.
• Provide tailored 1:1 and small-group support in line with individual learning and development plans.
• Support pupils with their communication, social, emotional and educational development.
• Assist with the implementation of personalised learning activities and sensory-based provision.
• Promote independence, confidence and positive behaviour.
• Work closely with the class teacher, SEND team and other professionals to ensure pupils receive consistent support.
• Support pupils throughout the school day, including during lessons, transitions and wider school activities.
• Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils while maintaining a calm, patient and nurturing approach.
