Job summary

Academics is seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a fantastic SEN school in Lingfield on a full-time, long-term basis. You will support pupils with diverse needs, help them engage with learning, and work closely with teachers to deliver inclusive activities.

Applicants with care or support experience, a patient and resilient approach, and a willingness to obtain or update an Enhanced DBS are encouraged.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people with Special Educational Needs is desirable.
• A caring, patient and resilient attitude with a genuine passion for supporting children.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
• The right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups, helping them to engage with learning and reach their full potential.
• Work alongside teachers to deliver creative and inclusive learning activities.
• Support children with a range of additional needs, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, Speech & Language needs and learning difficulties.
• Adapt resources and learning strategies to meet individual needs.
• Encourage independence, confidence and positive behaviour through patience and consistency.
• Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils, teachers and families.
• Support with personal care or specialist equipment where required.
