Job summary

Ash Field Academy in Leicester is recruiting a SEN Teaching Assistant on a permanent basis. The role focuses on planning and delivering specialist support for pupils with SEN and disabilities, enabling access to curriculum with appropriate modifications.

Ideal candidates will have NVQ level 2 or equivalent, TA awards, and relevant GCSEs, with experience of working with children. The post is term-time with a 6-month probation and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification, TA awards, English/Maths GCSE (A*-C or 9-4)
  • Level 2 Basic Skills Literacy, CACHE Level 2 Certificate in Child Care and Education
  • Experience working with children in relevant age group
  • Ability to plan work and exercise initiative and independent action

Responsibilities

  • Plan and provide specialist support to pupils with identified disabilities and SEN to access a broad and balanced curriculum
  • Assess, record and report on development, progress and attainment using specialist knowledge
  • Support parents to understand their children's needs and provide sound advice regarding their child’s education
  • Provide supervision to individuals or groups in various settings and monitor conduct and behaviour
