Job summary

Blackhorse Primary School is seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to join the Resource Base team, supporting autistic pupils and pupils with social and communication needs. The role is permanent, 32.5 hours per week, during term time with INSET days and a 30-minute lunch break.

The successful candidate will have prior experience with primary pupils, be capable of motivating progress, and maintain clear records while working closely with staff to support inclusive learning.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with primary-aged pupils in an educational setting.
  • Clear understanding of how to motivate children and support progress.
  • Ability to present information clearly, both orally and in writing, to maintain records and assess progress.
  • Willingness to engage in further training and professional development.
  • Ability to establish positive working relationships with colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • Support autistic pupils and pupils with social and communication difficulties in the Resource Base.
  • Motivate children and help them make progress.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to pupil progress assessments.
  • Engage in CPD and professional development opportunities.
  • Collaborate with teachers and support staff to create an inclusive learning environment.
