Job summary

Connex Education are supporting a mainstream primary school in Leeds in appointing an SEN Teaching Assistant on a full-time basis. This role is to work 1:1 with a child with autism who is non-verbal.

The school is looking for a candidate to help create an engaging learning environment for KS1 pupils, working as part of a supportive team. The contract runs as a long-term assignment starting September 2026 to January 2027, at 32.5 hours per week.

Qualifications

• 1:1 support for a pupil with autism
• Experience supporting pupils with SEN
• GCSE-level maths and English or equivalent required

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be supporting a KS1 class and working 1:1 with a child with autism. The school is looking for a SEN Teaching Assistant who is able to help create an engaging learning environment for pupils.

This role is long term assignment starting September 2026 – January 202 (32.5 hours per week).

Person Specification

• Have a current DBS on the update service or willing to provide a new one
• Have Maths and English to GCSE Grade C or equivalent
• Hold previous experience of working with children and young people
• Have experience of supporting pupils with SEN needs
