Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to support students with SEND in a mainstream secondary setting in Coventry, covering KS3 and KS4. The role is part-time with 1:1 and small-group support, working alongside teachers to adapt activities, manage behaviour positively and foster independence.

You will join a dedicated team and have access to CPD, timely onboarding, and market-leading pay rates.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities / SEND.
• Experience working with secondary-aged students across KS3 and KS4.
• An understanding of additional needs such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH and learning difficulties.
• Strong behaviour management and communication skills.
• A patient, resilient and adaptable approach to supporting students with individual learning needs.

Responsibilities

The school is looking for a dedicated and adaptable SEND Teaching Assistant who can help create a positive and inclusive learning environment where students with additional needs feel supported and encouraged to achieve their potential.

The school is looking to take on a SEND Teaching Assistant for part-time, day-to-day work starting immediately. The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will provide 1:1 and small group support to students with a range of special educational needs, including Autism / ASD, ADHD, SEMH and learning difficulties where required, working alongside teaching staff to adapt learning activities, manage behaviour positively and encourage student engagement and independence.

The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will have:

• Experience supporting children or young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities / SEND
• Experience working with secondary-aged students across KS3 and KS4
• An understanding of additional needs such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH and learning difficulties
• Strong behaviour management and communication skills
• A patient, resilient and adaptable approach to supporting students with individual learning needs
