Job summary

TeacherActive Limited is recruiting SEND Teaching Assistants to support pupils with additional needs at a Redditch school. You will work with teaching staff to deliver tailored 1:1 and small-group support, helping pupils engage with learning and develop confidence.

The role focuses on inclusion, positive relationships and ensuring every pupil has the opportunity to succeed. Long-term placements start after October half-term or in January, depending on availability.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEND within an educational setting.
• Experience supporting pupils with additional learning, communication, social, emotional or behavioural needs.
• Ability to provide effective 1:1 and small-group support.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

The school is looking for committed and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistants who can provide tailored support to pupils with additional needs, helping them engage with their education and develop confidence and independence.

The school places a strong emphasis on inclusion, positive relationships and ensuring every pupil has the opportunity to succeed. The successful SEND Teaching Assistants will work closely with teaching staff to support pupils within the classroom, deliver individual and small-group support, and encourage positive behaviour and engagement throughout the school day.

The school is looking to appoint SEND Teaching Assistants on a long-term basis, with start dates available after the October half-term or in January, depending on availability and interest.

The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will have:

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEND within an educational setting.
• Experience supporting pupils with additional learning, communication, social, emotional or behavioural needs.
• The ability to provide effective 1:1 and small-group support.
• A good understanding of how to encourage positive behaviour, engagement and independence.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• A patient, caring and adaptable approach.
• A positive 'can-do' attitude and willingness to get stuck in.
