Job summary

Protocol Education is recruiting SEND Teaching Assistants for September 2026 across a range of SEND schools in the Bromley area. We welcome graduates from arts, drama, dance, music, theatre and performing arts who are creative, adaptable and eager to support pupils with SEND, SEMH, ASD and PMLD.

We value patient, proactive and resilient individuals who can build strong relationships with pupils and staff. Roles vary from one-to-one support to small group work, with training provided and ongoing

Qualifications

  • Proactive and ready to get stuck in within SEND settings.
  • Calm under pressure and able to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
  • Creative thinkers who can try different approaches to engage learners.
  • Strong communication and collaboration with teachers and SEND teams.

Responsibilities

  • Support pupils one-to-one or in small groups.
  • Help pupils build confidence, independence and communication skills.
  • Assist pupils with SEND, SEMH, ASD and PMLD.
  • Support emotional regulation and engagement in learning.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils and school staff.
  • Work alongside teachers and specialist SEND teams.

SEND Teaching Assistants required for September 2026
SEND, SEMH, ASD & PMLD Roles Across Your Local Area

Some children just need the right person beside them.

We're looking for caring, proactive & enthusiastic people to join our team and support pupils in SEND schools from September 2026.

Whether you're an experienced TA, looking for your first role in education, or thinking about a future career in teaching, we'd love to hear from you.

You don't have to come from a traditional education background either. Creative graduates from art, drama, dance, music, theatre and the performing arts can make fantastic SEN TAs too. If you're confident, adaptable, creative and good at building relationships, your skills could be exactly what a child needs.

We'd also love to hear from people with backgrounds in youth work, care, coaching, mentoring, support work or mental health.

Your role could include:
  • Supporting pupils one-to-one or in small groups
  • Helping children build confidence, independence and communication skills
  • Supporting pupils with SEND, SEMH, ASD and PMLD
  • Helping pupils regulate emotions and engage in learning
  • Building positive relationships with pupils and school staff
  • Working alongside teachers and specialist SEND teams

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
