Job summary

Watermore Primary School is seeking a teaching assistant to join our SEND team on a temporary basis to support a pupil with a visual impairment. The role requires creativity, collaboration with teaching colleagues and a flexible approach to daily learning activities.

You will work closely with the Inclusion Manager and other staff to promote inclusive learning, high expectations, and positive relationships with parents and carers. DA DBS disclosure will be required as part of safeguarding.

Qualifications

  • Qualified teaching assistant with relevant qualifications in the education sector.
  • Maths and English GCSE grade C or higher.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and form positive relationships with parents and the school community.

Responsibilities

  • Support a child with SEND, specifically a pupil with visual impairment.
  • Assist class teachers to deliver inclusive learning activities.
  • Collaborate with the Inclusion Manager and school staff to support pupil progress.
  • Demonstrate energy, enthusiasm and resilience in daily duties.

Job description

This is an exciting opportunity to join our supportive and talented SEND team. The temporary role is to work with a child with a visual impairment.

Watermore is a modern new building that opened in 2020 offering a fantastic learning environment for our pupils. The classrooms are designed to enable the two classes in each year group to have the flexibility to work either as separate classes or together as a larger unit.

We are looking for a candidate who is a qualified teaching assistant / have relevant qualifications in the education sector. You must have grade c / 4 or higher in maths and English and demonstrate through your application how you could fulfil the job description.
