Job summary

The Propeller Academy Trust is seeking Teaching Assistants to support children with additional needs in a supportive school community. You will help with learning activities, therapy targets (IEPs) and personal care as needed, fostering wellbeing and independence.

You will engage in enrichment activities such as swimming, PE, community visits and horse riding, while building strong relationships with pupils, families and multidisciplinary teams. Flexible/part-time options may be considered.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children or young people.
  • Experience in education, care or youth work is desirable.
  • Familiarity with EHCPs or additional needs is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support pupils with SLD, PMLD and ASD in class and across the school.
  • Assist with learning activities, therapy programmes and individual targets (IEPs).
  • Take part in enrichment activities including swimming, PE, community visits and horse riding.
  • Provide personal and intimate care where required.
  • Promote positive behaviour, wellbeing and independence.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils, families and multidisciplinary teams.

About the Role
Working Pattern
  • Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday: 08:45 – 15:00
  • Tuesday: 08:45 – 16:00
  • Includes a 30-minute unpaid lunch break
  • We support flexible working and will consider part-time hours, as long as availability includes the beginning and/and end of each working day, which are essential for this role.
In this role, you will:
