Job summary

John Watson School seeks kind, patient Teaching Assistants to join a supportive team. The role focuses on helping pupils with additional needs, delivering learning activities and participating in enrichment events such as swimming and horse riding.

We welcome applicants with experience in education or care and a commitment to wellbeing. Part-time options may be considered to fit daily start/end times.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with SLD, PMLD and ASD in class and across the school.
• Assist with learning activities, therapy programmes and IEP targets.
• Take part in enrichment activities (swimming, PE, community visits, horse riding).
• Provide personal and intimate care where required.
• Promote positive behaviour, wellbeing and independence.
• Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils, families and multidisciplinary teams.

About the Role

Working pattern:

1. Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday: 08:45 – 15:00
2. Tuesday: 08:45 – 16:00
3. Includes a 30-minute unpaid lunch break
4. We support flexible working and will consider part‑time hours, as long as availability includes the beginning and/and end of each working day, which are essential for this role.

In this role, you will:
