TeacherActive is recruiting a proactive SEN Teaching Assistant for a specialist school in Barry, CF63, supporting pupils aged 8 to 16 with behavioural difficulties and ALN. The role is full-time and temporary with an immediate start, assisting across the provision to promote positive behaviour and practical learning.

Ideal candidates have experience with children or enthusiasm for ALN, and a proactive, communicative approach to helping students gain confidence, independence and life skills.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people is desirable, although entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply.
• An interest in supporting pupils with behavioural difficulties and ALN (Additional Learning Needs).
• The ability to engage pupils through practical learning and life skills activities.
• A proactive approach with confidence in managing challenging situations.

The school provides a supportive and engaging learning environment, with a strong focus on practical learning, developing independence and equipping young people with essential life skills.

The school is looking to take on a proactive SEN Teaching Assistant on a full-time, temporary basis with an immediate start. The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will support pupils across the provision, encouraging positive behaviour, delivering engaging practical activities and helping young people develop their confidence, social skills and independence.

The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will have:

Experience working with children or young people is desirable, although entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply
