Job summary

TeacherActive is working with a specialist school provision based in Barry, CF63, seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils aged 8 to 16 with behavioural difficulties and ALN. The role is full-time and temporary with an immediate start, offering practical learning activities and development of life skills.

The successful candidate will engage pupils through practical tasks, foster confidence and independence, and adapt to challenging situations with a proactive, outgoing approach.

Qualifications

• A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential
• Experience working with children or young people is desirable, although entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply
• An interest in supporting pupils with behavioural difficulties and Additional Learning Needs (ALN)
• The ability to engage pupils through practical learning and life skills activities
• A proactive approach with confidence in managing challenging situations
• An outgoing, enthusiastic and resilient personality with strong communication skills

Responsibilities

• Support pupils across the provision, encouraging positive behaviour and helping them develop confidence, social skills and independence

The school provides a supportive and engaging learning environment, with a strong focus on practical learning, developing independence and equipping young people with essential life skills.

The school is looking to take on a proactive SEN Teaching Assistant on a full-time, temporary basis with an immediate start. The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will support pupils across the provision, encouraging positive behaviour, delivering engaging practical activities and helping young people develop their confidence, social skills and independence.

The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will have:

• A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential
