Aspire People is recruiting SEN Teachers for Birmingham schools ahead of the September 2026 start. You will deliver engaging, personalised lessons to students with diverse SEND profiles, including Autism and SEMH, and work with support staff to implement IEPs and EHCPs.

You will join a team that values safeguarding, resilience, and a nurturing classroom where every student can thrive; roles span core and vocational subjects and offer flexible patterns.

Qualifications

  • QTS with SEMH classroom experience.
  • Proven ability to manage challenging behaviour and support emotional regulation.
  • Experience teaching students aged 11-16 with SEND.
  • A flexible, resilient approach and a strong commitment to safeguarding.
  • Desirable: additional SEND qualifications (e.g. PGCE in SEND, Level 5/7 in Special Education) and EHCP experience.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging, personalised lessons to students with diverse SEND profiles.
  • Work closely with support staff and external professionals to implement IEPs and EHCPs.
  • Promote positive learning outcomes academically and emotionally.
  • Teach across core subjects and vocational subjects as required.

Job description

SEN Teachers needed across Birmingham for September! Are you a passionate and experienced SEN Teacher looking for your next rewarding role? Join our agency team and work in SEN schools that support students with a range of complex needs, including Autism, SEMH challenges, and associated behavioural difficulties.

Location: Birmingham

Start Date: September 2026

Contract: Ongoing, with potential for permanent placement

About the Role:

We are support many SEN schools across Birmingham and have been asked to recruit teachers for September. As a SEN Teacher, you will deliver engaging, personalised lessons to students with diverse SEND profiles. You'll work closely with support staff and external professionals to implement IEPs, EHCPs nurture student progress, and promote positive learning outcomes both academically and emotionally. These will include subjects across the board from core subjects to vocational subjects like construction, barbering and games design.

What We're Looking For:
  • QTS with SEMH classroom experience
  • Proven ability to manage challenging behaviour and support emotional regulation
  • Experience teaching students aged 11-16 with SEND
  • A flexible, resilient approach and a strong commitment to safeguarding
  • Ability to create a nurturing classroom where every student can thrive
Desirable (but not essential):
  • Additional SEND qualifications (e.g. PGCE in SEND, Level 5 or 7 in Special Education)
  • Experience working with EHCPs
  • Training in de-escalation techniques (e.g. MAPA, CPI, PMVA)
