Protocol Education are recruiting a SEN Teacher to join a specialist setting in Sunderland on a full-time basis. You will create an engaging classroom environment and plan lessons tailored to learners with SEND, ensuring safety and inclusion while working with colleagues and families.

The role requires QTS or equivalent qualification, patience, adaptability and strong teamwork to support EHCP outcomes and pupil progress in a dynamic school setting.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons for students in a SEND setting.
  • Adapt teaching to meet individual learning needs and abilities.
  • Support pupils with a range of SEND and monitor progress against targets.
  • Record pupil progress and contribute to developing personalised learning opportunities.
  • Work with Teaching Assistants and other staff to create a structured, inclusive classroom.

Job Type: Full Time, Term Time Only

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, school hours
Salary: £31,650–£51,048 per annum / PAYE, dependent on experience and qualifications

Protocol Education are currently recruiting for a SEN Teacher to join a specialist setting in Sunderland on a full-time basis.

You will be responsible for creating an engaging and supportive classroom environment where pupils feel safe, valued and encouraged to achieve their potential.

The role will involve:

  • Planning and delivering engaging lessons
  • Adapting teaching to meet individual learning needs
  • Supporting pupils with a range of SEND
  • Developing personalised learning opportunities
  • Setting and assessing appropriate learning outcomes
  • Monitoring and recording pupil progress
  • Supporting EHCP outcomes and individual targets
  • Promoting positive behaviour and engagement
  • Developing pupils' confidence and independence
  • Working closely with Teaching Assistants and support staff
  • Working with parents, carers and other professionals where appropriate
  • Creating a structured and inclusive classroom environment

The setting may support pupils with autism, learning difficulties, communication needs, SEMH and complex SEND, so flexibility and a willingness to adapt your teaching style are essential.
