Job summary

Polaris Education - Martha H School in Wigan is seeking a SEN Teacher to deliver high-quality lessons to pupils aged 5-16, addressing ASC and SEMH needs within the National Curriculum.

This full-time role (term-time only) offers a salary of £28,000 - £39,520 depending on experience, with a 37.5-hour week and a supportive development-focused environment within the Polaris Community.

Qualifications

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Suitable qualification to degree level.
• Previous successful teaching experience.
• Some previous experience of working with pupils with SEND within an educational setting.
• Experience of behaviour management and techniques.
• Committed to professional development and willing to learn.

Responsibilities

• Planning and delivering high-quality lessons within the National Curriculum while meeting ASC & SEMH needs.
• Supporting the class team in facilitating learning opportunities and promoting positive behaviours.
• Reporting on pupils' progress and liaising with staff to meet pupils' needs.
• Supervision of pupils during non-classroom time, including extra-curricular activities and school trips.
• Building positive relationships with pupils and driving positive learning outcomes.

Role Responsibilities

• Supporting the class team in facilitating learning opportunities and promoting positive behaviours
• Reporting on pupils' progress and concerns, and liaising with other school staff to ensure pupils' needs are met
• Supervision of pupils during non-classroom time, including extra-curricular activities and school trips
• Building positive relationships with pupils and driving interaction and positive learning outcomes
