Job summary

Aspire People is seeking a caring SEN Teaching Assistant for a mainstream primary school in Birmingham. This full-time, term-time role offers the opportunity to support pupils with a range of additional needs within an inclusive setting.

You will work closely with the teacher and SENCO to deliver personalised learning, supporting communication, emotional regulation and social development while promoting independence and positive behaviour among students.

Qualifications

  • Experience providing 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEN is preferred.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and welfare of children is required.
  • A Teaching Assistant qualification or willingness to undertake training is expected.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEN.

We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join our welcoming mainstream primary school in Birmingham. Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEN.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver personalised learning.
  • Support pupils with communication, emotional regulation, and social development.
  • Encourage independence, confidence, and positive behaviour.
  • Help create a safe, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment.
We Are Looking For Someone Who:
  • Has experience working with children with SEN (desirable but not essential).
  • Is patient, compassionate, and resilient.
  • Has excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Holds a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or is willing to undertake training.
