Remedy Education is partnering with an SEN school in Epping to recruit a patient SEN Teaching Assistant. This role supports primary and secondary pupils with a range of needs, providing 1:1 and small-group help and assisting with communication and learning goals under the guidance of teachers and the SENCO.

The ideal candidate will have experience with SEN, ASD or ADHD, a calm, resilient approach and a commitment to pupil wellbeing. DBS on update service preferred.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEN, ASD, ADHD or complex needs.
  • Calm, patient and resilient approach.
  • Comfortable working across primary and secondary age groups.
  • Confident supporting non-verbal or limited communication pupils.
  • Willing to support personal care where needed.
  • Strong team player with a proactive attitude.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Both experienced SEN Teaching Assistants and strong mainstream TAs looking to move into a specialist setting are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support across primary and secondary classes.
  • Supporting communication, emotional regulation and engagement in learning.
  • Following EHCP targets and individual support plans.
  • Assisting with personal care where required.
  • Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and external professionals.
  • Helping maintain a calm, structured and positive learning environment.
  • Encouraging independence, confidence and social development.
