Remedy Education is helping a well-resourced SEN school in Epping recruit a Teaching Assistant to support pupils with a range of needs in a dedicated provision. The role covers both primary and secondary ages and is full-time, long-term, with an ASAP start.

The successful candidate will work 1:1 and in small groups, following EHCP targets, and collaborate with teachers, SENCOs and outside professionals to maintain a calm, structured environment that fosters independence and social development.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEN, ASD, ADHD or complex needs.
  • Calm, patient and resilient approach.
  • Comfortable across primary and secondary age groups.
  • Confident supporting non-verbal or limited communication pupils.
  • Willing to support personal care where needed.
  • Enhanced DBS on Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Strong team player with a proactive attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support across primary and secondary classes.
  • Supporting communication, emotional regulation and engagement in learning.
  • Following EHCP targets and individual support plans.
  • Assisting with personal care where required.
  • Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and external professionals.
  • Helping maintain a calm, structured and positive learning environment.
  • Encouraging independence, confidence and social development.
