Job summary

Remedy Education seeks an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils in an SEN setting in Epping. The role covers both primary and secondary ages, with opportunities for ongoing development and a potential permanent position.

You will work 1:1 or in small groups, helping pupils with communication, regulation and engagement, while following EHCP targets and personal care where needed. A calm, patient, team‑minded approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEN, ASD, ADHD or complex needs.
• Calm, patient and resilient approach.
• Comfortable working across both primary and secondary age groups.
• Confident supporting non-verbal or limited communication pupils.
• Willing to support personal care where needed.
• Strong team player with a proactive attitude.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

Responsibilities

• Providing 1:1 and small group support across primary and secondary classes.
• Supporting communication, emotional regulation and engagement in learning.
• Following EHCP targets and individual support plans.
• Assisting with personal care where required.
• Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and external professionals.
• Helping maintain a calm, structured and positive learning environment.
• Encouraging independence, confidence and social development.
