Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant in Wolverhampton to provide 1:1 support for pupils with Autism, ASD, SEMH and complex needs within a specialist setting. The role focuses on helping pupils engage with learning, build resilience and develop essential life skills in a nurturing environment.

The successful candidate will be patient, proactive and dedicated to improving outcomes for young people, with strong relationship-building and communication abilities.

The school is looking to appoint a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant on a long-term basis, with the opportunity to secure a permanent position for the right candidate. The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will provide 1:1 support to pupils with Autism / ASD, Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs / SEMH and complex needs, encouraging engagement with learning, promoting positive behaviour and developing communication, social and emotional skills.

The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will have:

• Experience supporting children or young people with ASD, SEMH and complex needs
• Experience providing 1:1 support in a specialist SEN setting
• Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
• A patient, resilient and adaptable approach
• A genuine commitment to improving outcomes for young people
